Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a systems engineering professional to help shape the New Glenn launch system architecture, integrating propulsion, avionics, structures, and ground systems. You will drive trade studies, define interfaces, and ensure scalable, reliable operation across program phases from development to operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field.
• Familiarity with EAR/ITAR export control regulations.
• 10+ years of experience building large‑scale operational systems in aerospace/defense or similarly regulated industries.
• Experience across development lifecycle including transition to operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication with staff at all levels and external stakeholders.
• Excellent technical writing and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Understand customer requirements and represent the customer for architectural trades.
• Oversee concept development and feasibility studies for solutions integrating upgrades into existing or new infrastructure.
• Identify and lead trade studies to define overall architecture and interfaces.
• Develop CONOPS for New Glenn launch processing and mission operations.
• Provide systems engineering and integration expertise defining interfaces across mission, organizational, physical, functional, signal, hardware/software, and operations.
• Assist with requirements for models, simulations, test beds, and special test equipment for system testing.
• Ensure systems are designed with human considerations for all processes.
