Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in the Greater Seattle Area is seeking a Principal Ground Systems Architect to shape the New Glenn ground systems and site selection. The role requires leading architectural trades, managing concept development, and defining interfaces across propulsion, avionics, structures, and ground systems to ensure reliable launch operations.

You will drive trade studies, architecture governance, and integration across teams while addressing evolving requirements to support the New Glenn

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering or other technical field.
• Familiarity with export control (EAR/ITAR) regulations.
• 10+ years of experience in complex, large-scale operational systems in aerospace/defense or regulated industries.
• Experience across development lifecycle including transition to operations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer requirements and represent customer in architectural trades.
• Oversee concept development and feasibility studies for integrating upgrades into infrastructure.
• Identify and lead trade studies to define overall architecture and interfaces.
• Collaborate with programs to develop CONOPS for launch processing and operations.
• Provide systems engineering and integration expertise across launch elements.
• Support requirements for models, simulations, test beds, and special equipment.
• Ensure systems are designed with human considerations for all processes.
