Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Ground Software Development Lead - Level 5, based in Dulles, VA, onsite only. You will lead a focused team delivering ground software for space systems, guiding architecture, design, and integration while interfacing with senior leaders and customers.

The role requires strong hands-on technical skills and excellent communication, with SAFe/Agile experience and a track record of delivering complex software in high-visibility programs.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required at time of application.
• Experience leading small software teams (8–20 engineers) in Agile environments.
• Strong background in software design, integration, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with ground software for space systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small Agile ground software team to deliver incremental capabilities.
• Guide architecture, design, implementation, and integration decisions.
• Interface with Chief Engineer, Program Manager, and external customers.
• Coordinate technical content for design reviews and milestone events.
• Chair Agile ceremonies and mentor engineers to improve velocity and quality.
