Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a Staff-level Ground Software Architect (T5) to lead design and implementation of next-generation ground systems for space programs. Based in McLean, VA, this onsite role requires a Top Secret clearance and leadership of multi-disciplinary teams.

You will drive end-to-end software architectures, mentor engineers, and push modern practices like CI/CD, containers, and IaC to improve reliability and mission success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in STEM with 8+ years’ software experience.
• Strong background in software architecture for complex systems.
• Experience with modern languages and Linux environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical leader and software architect for ground systems.
• Define end-to-end ground software architectures and interfaces.
• Advise on cloud, containers, orchestration, and automation for missions.
• Lead full lifecycle software development and reviews.
• Collaborate across systems engineering, cybersecurity, and operations.
