Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Ground Software Lead Engineer/Architect (Level 6) to provide technical leadership in software planning, architecture, and execution for mission-critical systems. The role involves capability roadmapping, reuse strategies, and measurable feature criteria across multiple locations in the Western Region.

The position requires a STEM PhD or Master with extensive experience, active Top Secret clearance, and proficiency in Agile development, Jira, and model-based systems

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 12+ years of software engineering experience.
Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 10+ years of stated experience.
Ph.D. in a STEM discipline with 8+ years of stated experience.

Responsibilities

Lead software planning, architecture, and execution across programs.
Develop and maintain the software buildup plan and capability roadmap.
Review features for alignment with higher-level capabilities and track success criteria.
Support ground software cost estimates and basis of proposal estimates (BPE).
Own software metrics reporting and dashboards (e.g., in Jira).
