Job summary

Blue Origin in Denver is seeking a Ground Network Engineer to design, build, and maintain highly available network infrastructure connecting our global ground stations. You will apply SRE principles to create a scalable, secure environment and support the Quartz program.

Responsibilities include WAN/LAN architecture, device configurations, IP planning, security, and proactive health monitoring. A strong background in multi-vendor networks and 8+ years of experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years in architecting, deploying scalable network infrastructure.
• Experience in multi-vendor device installation, configuration, monitoring.
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, MPLS and routing protocols (BGP/OSPF/IS-IS).
• Experience coding in Python, Go, Rust, or C++.
• Strong communication, resourcefulness, and collaborative skills.
• U.S. citizen or eligible immigration status.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end network topology for multiple sites and a NOC.
• Define WAN/LAN architecture with primary/backup circuits, switching, routing.
• Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and out-of-band devices.
• Develop IP addressing plans and VLAN configurations.
• Maintain network security architecture with firewalls and VPNs.
• Perform system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and monitoring.
• Implement network observability platforms and health reporting.
• Coordinate circuit installation and troubleshooting with providers.
• Create comprehensive network diagrams and as-built docs.
• Lead Quartz cyber security compliance activities.
