Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Sr Network Reliability Engineer to design, build, and operate a highly available global ground network for Quartz. The role emphasizes SRE principles, automation, and strong collaboration across teams to ensure secure, scalable connectivity between Earth and space.

You will work on WAN/LAN architecture, device configurations, and security constructs while driving network observability and incident response readiness in a fast-paced spaceflight environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience architecting and deploying scalable network infrastructure.
• Experience with multi-vendor device configurations and network monitoring.
• Strong scripting or coding ability in Python, Go, Rust, or C++.

Responsibilities

• Design and document end-to-end network topology for multiple sites and NOC.
• Define WAN/LAN architecture, circuits, switching, and routing.
• Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and out-of-band devices.
• Develop IP addressing plans, VLANs, and security controls.
• Implement network monitoring, observability, and reporting.
• Lead cyber security compliance activities for Quartz program.
