Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Ground Data Systems Engineer 3 to join the In-Space Systems team. You will own ground data system requirements, support RF/communications across space-ground interfaces, and collaborate with flight vehicle, ground software, and testing teams to deliver robust, traceable system solutions.

Qualifications

• B.S. in aerospace, mechanical, electrical engineering, computer science, physics, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of technical experience developing Space-to-Ground Communications systems and their ground systems.
• 5+ years of technical experience in the Communications domain, spanning the OSI stack including CCSDS protocols and application definition.
• Experience developing communications link budgets to predict link closure and data rates.

Responsibilities

• Identify, derive, develop, and maintain Ground Data Systems requirements with traceability and verification/validation approaches.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including flight vehicle, ground software, IT, and external vendors.
• Develop and refine the ground data system and communications architectures across mission requirements.
• Define and maintain interface requirements and control documents (e.g., Space Vehicle to Ground Network).
• Plan and perform requirement verification/validation for Ground Data Systems; support production software releases.
