Job summary

Lowes Foods, LLC seeks a Grocery Department Supervisor to oversee guest service, merchandising and daily department operations in our Raleigh store. You will lead staff, ensure friendly service, manage inventory, and uphold quality and safety standards.

A hands-on role requiring teamwork, training, and the ability to lift heavy items. You’ll coordinate pricing, backroom organization, and vendor coordination while delivering a positive shopping experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 40 lbs. consistently and 60 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to read and understand information and direction.
• 1-3 years of supermarket knowledge.
• Ability to supervise people including training and development.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Effective communication, guest service and selling skills.
• Ability to bend, kneel, stand, push/pull stock carts and operate pallet jack for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Oversee guest service in the grocery department.
• Achieve budgeted sales, wage percent, and profits for the grocery department.
• Maintain inventory and supplies to maximize sales and minimize excess inventory.
• Operate department according to merchandising and operational guidelines.
• Ensure product quality meets standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department.
• Provide guidance, orientation, training and feedback to staff.
• Perform product stocking and guest service as needed.
• Maintain staffing and scheduling standards.
• Control shrink through stock loss programs.
• Ensure proper pricing and item scanning.
• Maintain backroom organization.
• Ensure advertised items are available and signed.
• Prepare grocery department for inventory.
• Collaborate with Store Manager and Receiver on product levels.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
