Job summary

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department seeks a Senior Wildlife Biologist in the Large Carnivore Section to lead grizzly bear monitoring and management across Wyoming. This role designs studies, analyzes population data, and coordinates with interagency partners to inform policy.

Field work is heavy, including handling large carnivores, communicating with the public at meetings, and helping set harvest objectives and seasonal plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in wildlife management or related field.
• 1–2 years progressive wildlife management experience.
• Experience with data collection/analysis and field readiness.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develops study designs and monitors grizzly bear population dynamics.
• Capture and handling of large carnivores; monitor populations.
• Coordinate with agency personnel; present to public meetings.
• Respond to conflicts between carnivores and people or livestock.
• Collect biological data from field and air; analyze habitat data.
• Provide training and outreach on large carnivore management.
