Job summary

The State of Wyoming's Wildlife Division is seeking a Wildlife Biologist I to investigate damage caused by big and trophy game and to develop mitigation plans on private lands. You will work with landowners, deploy exclusionary fencing, and, when permitted, conduct humane lethal control and relocation of wildlife.

Responsibilities include evaluating damage, processing claims, assisting with Access Yes programs, field surveys, and public outreach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Wildlife Management or closely related field.
• 0-3 years progressive work experience in wildlife management (Wildlife Biologist I) or 4-6 years substituting education/experience.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement wildlife damage mitigation plans (haz­ing, fencing installation, depredation control).
• Evaluate and advocate compensation for damage on private lands.
• Assist with the Access Yes program and landowner outreach.
• Capture, relocation or lethal take of wildlife per permits.
• Field duties including population inventories and data collection.
