Job summary

Textron in Fort Worth is seeking an experienced grinder operator to set up and run multiple grinders for production, experimental, and tool work. The role involves tackling difficult grinding tasks across internal, centerless, surface, external, thread, and universal grinders with high precision.

You will grind steps, tapers, recesses, shoulders, angles, contours and threads, set up truing devices for various thread forms, and select speeds, feeds and wheels while maintaining tight tolerances.

Qualifications

• Three years of production grinding experience including setup.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates internal, centerless, surface, external, thread and universal grinders for production, experimental, and tool work.
• Must be able and is required to perform any type of difficult grinding work on any and all types grinders.
• Grinds steps, tapers, recesses, shoulders, angles, contours and threads.
• Must be able to set up truing devices on thread grinding for various types and forms of threads. Selects proper speeds, feeds, and wheels.
• Holds work to required tolerances. Setups are exacting, usually requiring firm and accurately set fixtures, rests or blocks.
