Job summary

Pacific Gas and Electric Company is seeking an Expert Engineer, Grid Technology, based in San Ramon. You will perform energy modeling, equipment prototyping, and lab/field testing across utility-scale and grid-edge energy solutions, working with SCADA, DMS, GIS, and tools like CYME, PSCAD, and LabVIEW.

You will lead project teams, develop test protocols, analyze data, and collaborate with stakeholders to advance grid modernization and electrification strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Ability to work safely around high voltage equipment.
• Strong investigative and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Experience in Power System Equipment Testing, Modeling, DERs, EVs.

Responsibilities

• Leads project teams performing tests to identify, define, solve problems, and prepare technical reports and specifications.
• Partners with stakeholder organization to develop grid advancement and electrification strategies.
• Develops test protocols, models, technologies and analyzes data.
• Evaluates performance of parts, assemblies or systems under simulated operating conditions.
• Mentors junior peers and supports cross-functional collaboration.
