Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company seeks an experienced Analyst III to support grid operations by developing and coordinating switching plans across the NSP service territory. This 1-year onsite contract focuses on safe execution, switching procedures, tagging, and clearances with intense collaboration across Control Center and Grid Operations teams.

The role requires 5+ years of field experience in electric utilities, DSOG exposure, and knowledge of switching coordination.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of field experience in electric utility operations.
• Experience within a Distribution System Operating Group (DSOG) or similar utility operations environment.
• Experience supporting distribution operations at an electric utility.
• Familiarity with Oracle NMS.
• Previous switching coordination or outage coordination experience.
• Understanding of switching procedures, safety tagging, clearance procedures, and grid operations.
• Basic engineering or electrical theory knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop and write switching requests and switch plans for distribution grid work within the NSP territory.
• Coordinate switching activities with the Control Center and other operational teams.
• Review upcoming work schedules and prepare switch plans to support planned grid maintenance and operations.
• Ensure switching plans comply with all safety requirements, tagging procedures, and clearance protocols.
• Submit switching plans for review, incorporate feedback, and obtain necessary approvals.
• Schedule approved switching plans and coordinate execution with operational stakeholders.
• Serve as a point of contact for Control Center personnel regarding switching plan questions and clarifications.
• Collaborate with Grid Operations, Outage Coordination, and other internal stakeholders to support safe and efficient system operations.
