Job summary

WECTEC Staffing Services is seeking an experienced control room switching planner for an onsite, 12-month contract in the NSP service territory. You will translate maintenance schedules into switching requests that meet safety tagging and clearance requirements, coordinating with Control Center to validate sequences.

The role requires 5+ years in electric utility field operations, hands-on DSOG experience, and familiarity with Oracle NMS.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in electric utility field operations.
• Knowledge of distribution operations and outage switching coordination.
• Foundational understanding of electrical theory.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed switching requests and end-to-end switch plans.
• Translate maintenance schedules into executable switching requests meeting safety tag and clearance requirements.
• Validate sequences with Control Center and operations teams to minimize customer impact.
• Coordinate with Grid Operations, Outage Coordination and other stakeholders to support safe, efficient system operations.
• Schedule execution after obtaining approvals and routing plans for review.
