NANO Nuclear Energy is seeking a Graphite Engineer to support the development, analysis, and qualification of graphite components for advanced HTGR systems. The successful candidate will support material selection, characterization, and qualification activities for next‑generation microreactor technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field and 5+ years engineering exp.
• Understanding of materials science fundamentals and degradation mechanisms.
• Ability to analyze technical data and communicate conclusions.
• Ability to work independently within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, evaluate, and qualify graphite components for HTGR systems.
• Analyze graphite properties: thermal conductivity, strength, oxidation, creep, stability.
• Support material selection, procurement specs, and supplier evaluations.
• Perform engineering analyses on high-temperature graphite performance.
• Evaluate behavior under thermal gradients, irradiation, and operations.
• Develop material qualification plans, test requirements, and docs.
• Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, nuclear, and systems teams.
• Review literature and industry data related to graphite in HTGRs.
• Prepare reports, calculations, presentations, and licensing documentation.
• Participate in design reviews and stakeholder meetings.
