Job summary

Strategic Business Systems seeks a Senior AWS Engineer (Graph / Cloud) to design and build cloud-native graph-based applications using Neptune, Neo4j, and JanusGraph. You will collaborate with AWS architects and customers to translate requirements into scalable graph schemas and production services.

The role requires TS clearance, 5+ years of software engineering, and hands-on AWS experience, with a focus on graph data modeling and customer-facing delivery.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required; Top Secret clearance preferred or in process.
• Five or more years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with graph databases (Neptune/Neo4j/JanusGraph).
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands-on AWS experience (EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, IAM).
• Knowledge of graph query languages: Gremlin, SPARQL, or openCypher.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• Clear written and verbal communication for technical docs and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design and build graph-backed applications for relationship-rich data.
• Model entities and relationships; tune schemas and indexes for performance.
• Develop APIs and microservices exposing graph data to consumers.
• Deploy and operate graph workloads in AWS; plan DR and backups.
• Translate requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Build data ingestion and integration pipelines for the graph platform.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code for graph services.
• Diagnose performance issues across query, storage, and network layers.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, peer code reviews, and design sessions.
