Job summary

Strategic Business Systems, Inc. (SBS) seeks a Senior AWS Engineer (Graph/Cloud) to design and implement cloud-native applications backed by graph databases. You will work with AWS architects and customers to shape graph schemas, scalable queries, and production services.

The role emphasizes hands-on graph data modeling, cloud deployments, and collaboration in an Agile setting, with flexibility for onsite, hybrid, or remote work options.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required and Top Secret clearance is preferred; government clearance process may be considered where contract rules allow.
• Five+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience building applications on graph databases (Neptune, Neo4j, or equivalents).
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands-on AWS experience with EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, and IAM.
• Knowledge of graph query languages: Gremlin, SPARQL, or openCypher.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication for technical documentation and customer delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design and build cloud-native applications backed by graph databases for relationship-rich mission data.
• Model entities and relationships; optimize graph schemas and indexes for performance.
• Develop APIs and microservices to expose graph data to consumers.
• Deploy and operate graph workloads in AWS, including sizing, backup/restore, and DR.
• Translate analytic requirements into scalable, maintainable graph solutions.
• Create data ingestion and transformation pipelines feeding the graph platform.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code for graph services.
• Collaborate in Agile ceremonies and architecture discussions.
