Job summary

The City of Albuquerque is seeking a senior accounting professional to lead grant management efforts within the Department of Family and Community Services. You will oversee forecasting, budgeting, expenditures, accounts payable, and grant reconciliation to ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines.

The role requires strong supervisory experience, a relevant degree, and several years in governmental accounting, with CPA or CGFM preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration including 15 accounting credit hours with passing grade C or better.
• Six years of accounting experience including at least four years in governmental accounting, grant management or budget analysis.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review and participate in the work of staff performing accounting and fiscal functions; mentor and evaluate staff.
• Oversee and maintain grant records; monitor expenditures and reconcile grants and general funds.
• Develop policies and procedures; ensure compliance with Governmental GAAP and Federal/State guidelines.
• Assist in planning and implementation of new financial software systems and procedures.
• Prepare financial reports and respond to auditors during annual and single audits.
