Job summary

San Jacinto College seeks a Senior Grants Accounting Specialist to oversee restricted grant financials, budgets, and reporting at the District Office. The role supports the Grant PI/Director, prepares journal entries, approves requisitions, and assists with audits while guiding colleagues as needed.

The position requires a relevant degree and at least 3 years of accounting experience, with preference for grant/Banner experience. Limited remote work may be available after a probation period.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or related field is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience or related coursework.

Responsibilities

• Oversee grant accounting, including budgets, transactions, and reporting for restricted funds.
• Prepare journal entries for grant financials and corrections; assist with audits.
• Monitor grant expenses for compliance with regulations and college policies.
• Reconcile GL accounts monthly for grant reporting; investigate discrepancies.
• Review journal vouchers, requisitions, financial reports, and related docs.
• Train or assist part-time/full-time staff as needed.
