Job summary

The Minnesota Department of Human Services is seeking a Homelessness, Housing and Support Services Administration Grants Specialist to manage day-to-day grants and contracts for the HHSSA Grants Program.

In a team setting, you will oversee the contract process, monitor compliance, coordinate RFPs, and ensure accurate budgeting and reporting using EGMS, CIS, SWIFT, and Power Automate. This role supports essential services for Minnesotans.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of working experience providing advisory insight and/or management of government grants and contracts.
• Understanding of core grants and contracts management standards and practices that include drafting and monitoring.
• Knowledge of roles and relationships of county, tribal, state, and federal governments.
• Knowledge of budgeting and business processes required for all procurement process phases.
• Skilled at using MS Office Suite programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of program evaluation methods and strategies along with researching databases.
• Program management.

Responsibilities

• In a team environment, manage the day-to-day activities for 500 HHSSA grants and contracts, including RFP coordination and contract approval.
• Oversee grant monitoring, payments, and documentation; ensure expenditures across funding streams.
• Provide consultation and oversight for grant programs, ensuring compliance.
