Job summary

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety seeks a Grants Coordinator to administer and oversee Homeland Security Grant Programs, including UASI, NSGP, and OPSG, ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements.

Hybrid eligible with telework up to 50% or more; the role involves coordinating grant portfolios, advising state agencies, and supporting planning and recovery efforts across diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years’ experience in grant administration including grant application, award administration, compliance monitoring, reporting, and closeout procedures.
• Knowledge of fiscal and programmatic management of grants and contracts.
• Ability to interpret policies, procedures, state and federal regulations.
• Ability to solve problems and manage multiple priorities, organize and prioritize work effectively, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
• Customer service and interpersonal skills to maintain collaborative relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to address grant-related inquiries.

Responsibilities

• To administer, coordinate, and oversee various Homeland Security Grant Programs, including the Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI), Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP), and Operation Stonegarden (OPSG).
• Provide technical assistance, information, and guidance to state agencies, local units of government, and tribal agencies to strengthen preparedness and capabilities to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from terrorist threats and events.
