Job summary

All Chicago MHH is seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Consultant / Interim Senior Accountant to provide hands‑on accounting, reconciliation, grants accounting, and process improvement support to the Finance team.

This temporary position focuses on balance sheet reconciliations, accounts receivable and collections, grant match accounting, and HUD vouchering within a nonprofit framework, with a hybrid Chicago schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience with GAAP and nonprofit accounting practices.
• Strong knowledge of balance sheet reconciliations and financial analysis.
• Experience with government-funded grants and reimbursement programs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Research and resolve reconciling items and aged balances.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and support schedules.
• Assist with month-end close activities.
• Improve reconciliation processes, templates, and documentation.
• Develop and enforce internal controls and procedures.
