Job summary

Kansas Health System is seeking an Accountant Senior - Grants to support the Health System Finance Director. You will manage general ledger activity for grants, ensure compliance with grant terms, Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), sponsor regulations, and internal policies.

You will lead journal entries, month-end close, grant reporting, audits and closeouts, coordinating with program leaders and grant stakeholders. This remote, full-time role offers growth in healthcare finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• 3 or more years of general accounting experience.
• 5+ years in healthcare/government/nonprofit environments (preferred).
• 3+ years with SharePoint workflow optimization (preferred).
• CPA - State Board of Accountancy (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competence in grants accounting and sponsored programs.
• Manages grants and financial responsibilities to meet sponsor requirements.
• Administers and allocates resources related to grant funding and engages with program leaders and stakeholders.
• Identifies process improvements and implements approved changes.
• Leads initiatives from start to finish with minimal direction.
• Prepares journal entries for grant expenditures, reallocations, and accruals.
• Supports month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting deadlines.
• Manages full lifecycle of grants, including award setup, monitoring, reporting and closeout.
• Ensures compliance with grant terms, Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) and internal policies.
• Reconciles grant records to GL and supports audits and monitoring.
