Job summary

Samsung Austin Research and Development Center (SARC/ACL) seeks a Staff GPU Post-Silicon Debug and Validation Engineer to contribute to the bring-up, debug, and validation of next‑generation GPU and IP across silicon and emulation platforms.

You will collaborate with architecture, design, verification, and software teams to drive root-cause analysis, improve debug efficiency, and validate performance and power in silicon, emulation, and system contexts.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or 4+ years with a Master’s, or 2+ with a Ph.D.
• BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field; internship or project in GPU/post-silicon debug/validation is a plus.
• Must have hands-on experience with AI/ML tools or techniques for debugging or test automation.

Responsibilities

• Support GPU silicon debug, design-for-debug architecture, and diagnostic development under guidance of senior engineers.
• Assist with automated SOC-level system test generation for GPU and Coherent Interconnect.
• Participate in board-level hardware and software bring-up of GPU and SOCs (Memory Controllers, Interconnect).
• Perform functional and parametric analysis of SOC and IP within an SOC.
• Help debug and root-cause improper or inconsistent operation.
• Develop software tools or scripts to support debug/test automation, leveraging AI/ML to accelerate analysis.
• Learn and apply debug features to accelerate testing and improve test effectiveness.
• Contribute to IP-level functional validation test plans.
• Support SOC emulation: modify hardware/software/test benches, run emulation, analyze SOC behavior.
• Provide debug input for feature improvements to next-generation designs.
