Job summary

General Atomics is seeking a Contract Manager II to lead the administration of U.S. Government contracts and subcontracts across classified space and national security programs from inception through completion.

You will supervise Contract Administrators, coordinate negotiations, and ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS, while partnering with program management and legal to mitigate risk. A TS/SCI clearance and a bachelor’s degree with 11+ years of experience are required; travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, law, or related field required with 11+ years of progressively complex experience in contracts.
  • Demonstrated expertise in government contract administration and leadership of contracts professionals.
  • Extensive knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and OTAs.
  • Experience supporting classified U.S. Government contracts, preferably in space/defense/national security.
  • Ability to assess contractual risk and influence cross-functional decisions.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills across all levels and with government representatives.
  • Willingness to travel as business needs require.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee daily activities of Contract Administrators, including workload management and performance development.
  • Coordinate administration of contracts: negotiating, reviewing, and approving documents to protect the company.
  • Support solicitation reviews, negotiations, and customer engagement to protect business interests.
  • Identify contractual and business risks; advise management and interpret terms to support programs.
  • Ensure protection of proprietary information and compliance with company policies.
  • Serve as primary contractual point of contact for assigned programs and relationships with customers and government representatives.
  • Collaborate with Program Management, Finance, Legal to support new business and expansions.
  • Stay current on laws and practices affecting contracts.
