Job summary

KIHOMAC, Inc. in Layton, UT, is seeking an experienced accountant to support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.

The role involves maintaining general ledger integrity, payroll accounting, and capital/lease scheduling within a DoD contracting context. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of relevant experience with an accounting degree, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficient Excel and accounting systems.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree required or higher in accounting/finance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance preferred.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• CPA or progress toward certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting activities.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
• Assist accounting manager with payroll accounting and related reconciliations.
• Assist accounting manager with capital expenditure, debt, and lease schedules.
• Support federal, state, and local tax compliance activities.
• Support DCAA compliance and reporting requirements.
• Ensure accounting practices comply with GAAP and government contracting regulations.
• Assist with external financial audits and provide requested schedules and documentation.
• Perform subcontract reconciliations and support contract closeout activities.
• Review and approve employee travel expenses and corporate card transactions for policy and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with accounts payable/accounts receivable in conjunction with Finance, as needed.
• Support time-and-material administration through labor reconciliations and travel audits.
• Collaborate with operations, contracts, personnel, program management, and business development to support business objectives.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
• Assist accounting manager in completing ad hoc requests.
