Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications or closely related field; 5 years in public information, communications, media relations, or public affairs; local government preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute media relations strategies and public messaging.
• Coordinate communications for executive priorities and governance functions.
• Serve as liaison to Mayor, Mayor’s Office, and City Council.
• Publish council meeting recap communications for internal and external audiences.
• Prepare briefing documents, talking points, and background materials for the Mayor and Council.
• Plan and support communications for strategic initiatives and special projects.
