Job summary

Florida Chamber of Commerce seeks an experienced Policy Director to develop, promote, execute, and coordinate components of the Chamber’s legislative agenda. This role will serve as the primary Governmental Affairs contact and lead lobbyist in assigned policy areas.

The candidate will work closely with legislators, Chamber members, and partners, leading coalitions and contributing policy content, research, and public testimony as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years knowledge of and/or experience in the state legislative and regulatory process.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a large internal and external team on multiple tasks at once.
• Willingness and ability to travel.
• Law or advanced degree in government, politics, or policy a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, promote, execute, and coordinate components of the Florida Chamber's legislative agenda.
• Serve as the primary Governmental Affairs point of contact and lead lobbyist in assigned policy areas.
• Lead issue-based coalitions in policy areas of responsibility and provide public testimony.
