Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and six years of professional experience in admin, research, policy analysis, or program planning.
• Master's degree substitutes one year of experience.
• Doctorate substitutes two years of experience.
• Professional experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff director in managing committee staff and setting priorities.
• Supervise and direct preparation of research projects and unit documents.
• Coordinate with agencies to identify issues needing legislative attention.
• Oversee oversight of executive agencies and investigate deviations.
• Prepare or review communications to legislators, staff and the public.
• Maintain expertise in subject area and monitor changes and activities.
• Assist in selecting and training staff and evaluating performance.
• Prepare committee or unit reports and budget documents.
• Contribute to policy development and procedural improvements.
• Perform other related duties as required.
