Job summary

ALCOSAN in Pittsburgh seeks a Manager of Government Affairs to strengthen relationships with elected officials and agencies and to advance the Authority's mission of cost-effective, customer-oriented, and environmentally conscious wastewater treatment.

You will oversee local, state, and federal government affairs, analyze proposed legislation, prepare briefs, and coordinate outreach with boards, unions, and industry groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Five years of Government/Public Relations experience
• Two years of supervisory experience

Responsibilities

• Manage policies and objectives involving local, state, and federal government affairs.
• Lead analysis of proposed legislative actions and impacts.
• Advocate Authority priorities to officials and staff.
• Coordinate government relations strategy with the Board, associations, unions and agencies.
• Prepare talking points, legislative summaries, factsheets, testimony and letters.
• Plan and implement events to support government relations goals (town halls, plant visits, meetings).
• Supervise administrative and technical staff; manage budget for government relations.
