Job summary

American Water seeks a Lead, Government Affairs to develop and manage a comprehensive state government affairs program aligning with the company’s objectives. You will steer legislative strategy, provide direction, and ensure timely reporting across the organization.

You will build and maintain relationships with elected and appointed officials, lead lobbying efforts, manage PAC activities, and coordinate with External Affairs and Business Development to advance policy goals.

Qualifications

• Must possess excellent knowledge of state executive/legislative processes
• Understanding of PAC laws and election law enforcement requirements
• Ability to testify before legislative audiences and coordinate with senior management
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and agile mindset
