Vallecitos Water District seeks an experienced accounting professional to perform advanced government accounting, budgeting, and reporting. You will reconcile ledgers, support audits, and manage capital asset accounting and project-related activities.

The role requires a degree in accounting and at least two years in professional accounting, with preference for public agency experience and strong knowledge of GASB practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field and two years of professional accounting experience.
• Public agency accounting experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of GASB and internal controls is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Reconcile general ledger and related accounts; prepare adjusting entries and month/year-end closes.
• Administer capital asset accounting and project-related activities.
• Assist in operating and capital budgeting processes and analyses.
• Coordinate audits and ensure compliance with governmental standards.
• Develop and implement improved accounting systems and controls.
• Train lower-level staff as needed.
• Maintain documentation and supporting schedules.
