Job summary

The City of La Center is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee the revenue cycle, budgeting process, and financial reporting, including monthly revenue and expenditures. The role reports to the Director of Administrative Services and collaborates with the Mayor and department heads.

Responsibilities include maintaining the general ledger integrity, performing bank reconciliations, managing utility billing and payroll, and preparing analyses and policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in accounting or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in accounts payable, payroll, banking reconciliation, revenue projection, and investment management.
• 3+ years in government accounting including revenue, investing, A/P, grant tracking, utility billing/payments, payroll and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage financial transactions, records, statements and reports per BARS.
• Coordinate annual budget development with Mayor and City Council.
• Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure fund accounting compliance.
