Job summary

City of Glendale AZ is seeking an experienced accounting professional for its Budget and Finance Department. The role involves maintaining ledgers, grant accounting, and cash management for city operations, with responsibilities spanning court and city-wide financial reporting.

You will prepare audit work papers, assist independent auditors, and help produce the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. Strong knowledge of government accounting, policies, and software is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and three years of accounting experience.
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general and subsidiary ledgers and prepare various financial reports.
• Prepare notes and financial statements for the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.
• Reconcile cash from funds and manage daily cash flow.
• Coordinate audits with independent auditors and Treasury function responsibilities.
• Prepare month-end, quarterly and annual financial statements for City departments.
• Provide training to Accountant staff as required.
• Answer questions on financial issues from other departments and public.
