Job summary

PGTEK seeks a Sr. Google Cloud Architect to lead secure cloud landing zones and hybrid architectures for federal and DoD programs. You will design with Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Vertex AI and related services, plus IAM, Terraform, CI/CD, and observability. The role includes guidance to engineers, architecture workshops, and RMF support.

Active Secret clearance is required; hybrid or remote work with travel to customer sites (~10–25%) is expected. Washington, DC area preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of cloud, systems, infrastructure, network, or solutions-architecture experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on Google Cloud experience in production or regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of GCP services, Terraform, containers/Kubernetes, Git‑based CI/CD, and hybrid networking.
• Experience producing architecture diagrams and explaining decisions to engineering and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of secure Google Cloud landing zones and resource hierarchies
• Architect solutions using Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Vertex AI, and related services
• Design hybrid connectivity, IAM architectures, Terraform modules, CI/CD/GitOps, and observability
• Support Google Distributed Cloud and air-gapped environments
• Conduct architecture workshops, design reviews, and customer briefings
• Mentor engineers and contribute to proposals and technical volumes
• Support RMF activities end-to-end
