Thorny Lea Golf Club, a storied private facility in Brockton, MA, invites applications for Head Golf Professional for the 2027 season. The role oversees all facets of the golf operation, leading a high-performing team and delivering a premier member experience.

The ideal candidate is a Class A PGA/LPGA professional with 5+ years of leadership, strong merchandising skills, and a tech-savvy approach to modern golf operations, member events, and instruction.

Qualifications

• Certification: Class A PGA or LPGA in good standing.
• Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience as a Head Golf Professional or Lead First Assistant at a premier private facility.
• Retail management experience in purchasing, merchandising, and inventory control.
• Tech-forward mindset with proficiency in modern golf operations software (POS, Golf Genius, digital launch monitors/fitting technology, digital marketing).

Responsibilities

• Direct all daily golf operations, including pro shop, driving range, bag room, fleet maintenance, and tee sheet flow.
• Plan, organize, and run a full calendar of member tournaments and club championships with advanced tournament software.
• Own and operate the golf shop concession with modern inventory controls and member fitting experiences.
• Recruit, train, and mentor a professional golf staff and foster accountability.
• Develop instructional, fitting, and junior programs for varied skill levels.
• Maintain an active, approachable member presence during peak times on the 1st tee and range.
