Job summary

Sandia Golf Club in Albuquerque, NM, part of Troon, seeks a Full-Time Golf Course Superintendent to lead maintenance operations, budgeting, and staff, ensuring top-quality conditions for members and guests.

The role requires an AA or equivalent, 2–5 years in course maintenance, and a valid driver’s license; Microsoft Office knowledge is preferred. Salary offers up to $120,000 annually with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• AA or equivalent from a two-year college; 2–5 years of related golf course maintenance experience
• Degree preference in agronomy, horticulture, or plant/soil science
• Valid driver's license required
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains the annual golf course maintenance budget and capital plans
• Plans, organizes, and directs maintenance and construction of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers
• Supervises planting and cultural practices for turf grasses, trees, and ornamentals
• Ensures maintenance equipment is properly maintained
• Procures supplies within budgetary limits
• Keeps records of maintenance activities and costs; prepares reports
• Implements purchasing procedures with preferred vendors when possible
• Reconciles invoices, payroll, and other documents
• Coordinates snow removal (location dependent)
• Ensures compliance with policies and regulations
• Ensures training and licenses for staff; addresses environmental concerns
• Ensures proper mixing, calibration, and application of chemicals and fertilizers
• Manages department staff (various roles)
• Provides orientation and ongoing training for new associates
• Incorporates safe work practices
