Job summary

Quicknode is seeking a senior software engineer to design and build distributed systems for blockchain data, leveraging Go and Rust in a hands-on leadership role.

You will own Go services and Rust components end-to-end, mentoring engineers and raising the bar for reliability, performance, and security across production systems.

This position offers a path toward Staff/Principal Engineer as scope expands, with no direct reports at this level and a focus on architectural ownership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend or distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Go and Rust; both required for production workloads.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems, concurrency, memory safety, and databases.
• Proven track record delivering scalable, reliable systems.
• Experience with blockchain infrastructure, RPC or data streaming.
• Experience with secure-design principles and testing.
• Strong communication and ability to lead cross-team projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize high-throughput backend services in Go and Rust.
• Own production Go services and Rust components, including architecture and testing.
• Architect distributed systems for blockchain data with strong consistency and scalability.
• Own end-to-end technical work: requirements, deployment, and incident response.
• Profile and benchmark systems to improve throughput and latency.
• Assess security risks and design controls protecting data and keys.
• Debug complex failures across services and networks to durable fixes.
• Collaborate with Product, Infrastructure, Security, and Developer Experience teams.
• Lead design/code reviews and establish engineering standards.
