Job summary

Jobgether SRL is seeking a Senior Compute Engineer (Go + Kubernetes) for a fully remote role based in the United States. You will design, build, and operate large-scale cloud-native systems, with Go, Kubernetes, containers, Linux, and distributed environments at the core.

You will collaborate with globally distributed teams on APIs, microservices, testing frameworks, and resource management, providing high-performance, reliable infrastructure with strong ownership and problem-solving.

Qualifications

• 14+ years of professional software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Deep experience with Go and language internals.
• Proven Kubernetes and container tech experience.
• Strong Linux knowledge including cgroups and resource management.
• Experience building APIs and microservices in Go.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and monitoring (Prometheus).
• Experience with automated testing and TDD practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, refactor, and maintain large-scale Go codebases.
• Read and understand extensive Go codebases and implement patches.
• Build automated tests using Go stdlib, Ginkgo, and Gomega with TDD practices.
• Troubleshoot apps via log analysis, profiling, debugging, and performance investigations.
• Design, deploy, scale, and maintain apps on Kubernetes platforms.
• Work with Docker and Linux-based systems (cgroups, resource management).
• Develop API services and microservices in Go with solid HTTP practices.
• Work with PostgreSQL and contribute to DB monitoring and performance.
• Use Prometheus and other metrics systems to improve visibility and reliability.
• Collaborate with distributed teams to solve complex technical problems.
