Job summary

NBCUniversal's Media Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join Content Delivery Engineering in New York City, USA. You will drive high-performance software to deliver VOD, live events, and linear streaming at scale for Peacock, SkyShowtime, Showmax, and NOW/WOW.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of professional software engineering, with Go or Python.
• Experience deploying in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) using containers and orchestration like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong CI/CD, testing, Git-based workflows, and build pipelines.
• SRE concepts familiarity and Agile development experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance software systems—primarily in Go—delivering video content at massive scale.
• Build services supporting VOD, live events, linear channels, dynamic ad insertion, and manifests.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and maintainable architecture.
• Collaborate with SRE to ensure highly available, resilient, and fault-tolerant systems.
• Use observability tools to detect issues and drive fast root-cause analysis.
• Contribute to multi-CDN strategies and content routing across regions.
