Job summary

Uber Technologies Inc. in San Francisco invites a Sr Software Engineer to join the Code Lifecycle team within the Developer Platform organization. You will own code hosting, code review, and code search platforms powering Uber's Go monorepo.

You’ll design and build Go tooling for review workflows, the SubmitQueue, and automated checks, driving end-to-end delivery, monitoring, and reliability. You’ll collaborate with hundreds of engineers to improve developer experience and productivity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong Go proficiency.
• Production-grade, well-tested code with high standards for reliability, monitoring and operability.
• Experience owning projects through full lifecycle — scoping, design, delivery, and production support.
• Demonstrated ability to make sound technical decisions under ambiguity balancing rigor with business needs.
• Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to a healthy engineering culture through reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Excellent communication and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve Uber's code hosting, code review, and code search platforms — ensuring stability and a green main branch.
• Design, build, and maintain Go-based tooling for the code review workflow, including the SubmitQueue and automated checks.
• Drive projects end-to-end from problem framing to production rollout and operations.
• Define and enforce testing, monitoring, and alerting standards; track metrics and lead incident response.
• Measure and improve developer experience for thousands of engineers across the company.
