Bitpanda Enterprise is seeking a senior backend engineer to join the UI engineering team, building the core digital asset infrastructure powering regulated trading and custody for millions of users globally.

You will design scalable Go services, implement robust APIs (GraphQL/REST/gRPC), work with Kafka/AWS SQS, and collaborate with teams across Bucharest to deliver production‑ready features with quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• Seasoned engineer with 3+ years building complex backend or enterprise software.
• Pro‑level Go skills with production‑grade Golang or strong Go fundamentals in another language.
• API mastery in GraphQL, REST, or gRPC.
• Event‑driven architecture experience with Kafka, AWS SQS, or RabbitMQ.
• Database versatility across SQL and NoSQL.
• Cloud‑native mindset with AWS (EKS, DynamoDB) and containers.

Responsibilities

• Architect and scale high‑performance, distributed microservices in Go for enterprise traffic.
• Design and maintain robust APIs (GraphQL and REST) for front‑end platforms.
• Ship production‑grade, well‑tested code with strong architectural design.
• Drive event‑driven messaging across Kafka/AWS SQS for async processing.
• Optimize SQL and NoSQL databases for fast data modeling and retrieval.
• Collaborate with teams in Bucharest to vet ideas and push features to production.
