Job summary

Fingerprint is hiring an experienced Senior Software Engineer to build and operate end-to-end fraud detection systems behind Identification APIs. You will design and implement scalable backend services in Go, ensuring reliability and performance at scale, and own features from concept through deployment.

The role emphasizes distributed systems, on-call readiness, and deep experience with microservices, Docker/Kubernetes, and cloud IaC.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in backend development with production experience.
• Strong experience with Go and scalable APIs.
• Hands-on with Docker and Kubernetes; IaC with Terraform/CloudFormation.
• Experience with observability tools and incident response.
• Proficient in SQL databases and data stores (DynamoDB/Redis/Elasticsearch).
• Proficient in Git, shell scripting, and CI/CD; strong English communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize backend systems for real-time data processing and web services, treating reliability, latency, and cost as first-class constraints.
• Own SLIs and SLOs for Core API services, using error budgets to balance velocity and stability.
• Build observability: metrics, logging, tracing, alerts for production systems.
• Share on-call rotation; respond to incidents; lead blameless postmortems.
• Reduce toil via automation; close out action items to prevent recurrence.
• Plan capacity, run load tests, and tune performance for scale.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor engineers.
