Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Software Engineer II to join our global engineering team and build scalable backend systems powering identity verification and fraud prevention.

The role focuses on designing and owning backend services, REST APIs, and microservices, with a strong emphasis on performance, reliability, and end-to-end feature ownership. Candidates expect 2–4 years of backend experience and proficiency in Go or Java.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of backend software engineering experience.
• Strong coding skills in Go, Java, or a similar backend language.
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices, SQL/NoSQL databases, and event-driven systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and own backend services, REST APIs, and microservices from design through production.
• Develop scalable, secure, and maintainable application-layer systems.
• Work on distributed systems, asynchronous workflows, messaging, retries, and fault tolerance.
• Partner with Product, Infrastructure, Data Science/ML, and Engineering teams.
• Improve performance, reliability, observability, and engineering standards.
• Participate in technical design, code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and production troubleshooting.
