Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Golang Software Engineer to join a small, experienced team building a new platform powering connected hardware and automation systems. You will work on Go-based middleware, APIs, and platform components, integrating with gRPC and Protocol Buffers.

You should be comfortable jumping into legacy code, debugging complex issues, and collaborating with senior engineers to deliver scalable solutions across hardware environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on Golang development in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Go-based middleware services.
• Debug and resolve defects across the software stack.
• Contribute to a new platform replacing a legacy architecture.
• Work on middleware enabling portability across multiple hardware platforms.
• Build and maintain gRPC APIs and Protocol Buffer contracts.
• Develop protocol translation services between legacy and modern systems.
• Write automated unit, integration, and conformance tests.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Collaborate with a small team of senior engineers.
• Document architecture decisions, API changes, and processes.
• Support embedded controller applications interacting with hardware.
• Ramp up on platform architecture and contribute code quickly.
