Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Senior GNSS Data Scientist for the Space and Geophysics Laboratory (SGL) at the Pickle Research Campus in Austin. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining software for collection, processing, and analysis of satellite navigation signals.

Responsibilities include developing data processing software in Python, C/C++, analyzing GNSS data, mentoring staff, and advancing GPS/GNSS methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Three years of related experience in Python or C/C++.
• Three years of related data analysis experience.

Responsibilities

• Independently develop new data processing and analysis software using Python, C/C++, or scripting.
• Analyze observation and navigation data using established tools, repositories and libraries.
• Contribute to analyses and characterizations of GPS/GNSS data.
• Identify improvements and new methods for GPS/GNSS data collection and analysis; evaluate new metrics and processing techniques.
• Mentor staff and serve as a subject matter expert; participate in project reviews and meetings.
• Document progress and completion of work.
