Job summary

EVONA, based in Rockville, Maryland, is seeking a Senior GNC Engineer to design and validate guidance, navigation and control systems for next-generation spacecraft. You will lead high-fidelity 6DOF simulations and develop control laws alongside flight software teams.

The role emphasizes greenfield GNC development, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and hands-on testing from development through operations. Relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing GNC systems for spacecraft or satellites.
• Strong background in attitude dynamics, control, and estimation.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and spacecraft modelling.
• Familiarity with sensors, actuators and embedded flight software.
• Experience taking GNC algorithms through integration and testing.
• Strong programming in C/C++ or Python.
• Experience with flight-proven spacecraft systems is desirable.
• RPO or proximity operations experience is a bonus, not a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and validate spacecraft guidance, navigation and control algorithms.
• Develop attitude determination and control systems, including sensor and actuator modelling.
• Build and maintain high-fidelity spacecraft dynamics and 6DOF simulation environments.
• Develop and test control laws, estimation algorithms and spacecraft flight software.
• Support SIL/HIL testing, subsystem integration and flight qualification.
• Collaborate with flight software, avionics, systems and mission engineering teams.
• Support spacecraft missions through development, launch and operations.
