Job summary

EVONA, based in Rockville, Maryland, is seeking a Senior GNC Engineer to design and validate guidance, navigation and control systems for next-generation spacecraft. You will lead high-fidelity 6DOF simulations and develop control laws alongside flight software teams.

The role emphasizes greenfield GNC development, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and hands-on testing from development through operations. Relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing GNC systems for spacecraft or satellites.
• Strong background in attitude dynamics, control, and estimation.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and spacecraft modelling.
• Familiarity with sensors, actuators and embedded flight software.
• Experience taking GNC algorithms through integration and testing.
• Strong programming in C/C++ or Python.
• Experience with flight-proven spacecraft systems is desirable.
• RPO or proximity operations experience is a bonus, not a requirement.

Build the GNC systems behind the next generation of spacecraft.

EVONA is partnering with a fast-growing NewSpace company developing mission-configurable spacecraft for a range of orbital and deep-space missions.

The business has secured $380M+ in funding, including an $80M Series A and a recent $300M PIPE deal. With approximately 120 employees and significant hiring plans, they're scaling their engineering teams to support multiple new spacecraft programs.

We're looking for a Senior GNC Engineer who wants to design and develop new systems from the ground up, rather than maintain legacy architectures.

What you'll be doing

• Design, develop and validate spacecraft guidance, navigation and control algorithms.
