Job summary

Astra Core-X is seeking a Lead Guidance, Navigation, & Controls (GNC) Engineer to develop advanced control laws, stability augmentation, and dynamic modeling for high-speed missile interceptors. You will ensure robust maneuvering, attitude control, and smooth transitions between flight phases.

You will build and validate models, run HIL simulations, and integrate control laws with propulsion and guidance requirements.

Qualifications

• BS in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–10 years in flight control, stability, or vehicle dynamics.
• Experience in control law development and implementation.
• US citizen with eligibility for government security clearance.
• Strong communication, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement flight control algorithms for boost and ramjet phases.
• Analyze stability and dynamic behavior during boost, transition and sustain.
• Build and validate linear/nonlinear models of vehicle dynamics.
• Integrate control laws with propulsion inputs and guidance requirements.
• Conduct hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations and software testing.
